Our downtown library is warm and inviting with a floating wooden staircase. With dedicated areas by age including children, teens, and adults, and a dedicated space for genealogy and local history, it offers our deepest collections and frequently hosts opportunities to learn or socialize in group settings. Built in 1966, KHCPL Main was fully renovated in 2010 but stands in the same spot where the original Carnegie library was constructed in 1905. Whether shopping, dining, or working out, combine your trip downtown with a library visit so you can get your own library card, borrow physical or digital materials, hop on our wi-fi, or take advantage of our programs and classes.

With Prairie-style architecture surrounded by green space, you’ll want to come to KHCPL South to kick back and relax. From the reading tree just for kids to the quiet study room and the community garden outside, it’s a versatile space for connecting with others or granting yourself a moment’s peace. Be sure to pause to admire the interior fixtures, made locally at Kokomo Opalescent Glass. Opening in 2001, the spacious one-story building replaced a busy, nearby storefront branch. Its meeting spaces work equally well as a site for get-togethers you organize on your own and for library-led fun

When you visit KHCPL Russiaville you’ll find a cozy branch library with a range of materials, public computers, and comfy seating scattered throughout an open room. At 3,600 square feet it has a homey feel and if you visit often, we’ll soon get to know your name. Check our schedule of programs and events for both children and adults. Our program room is also available for community use.
