Tech For You Banner

Recently, my son received his first musical instrument, a guitar, and is now taking music lessons. I was in band years ago and was trying to help him read music and practice. Unfortunately, I kept running into the problem where he would rush some parts of the music and slow down in others. Then I remembered using a metronome. I didn't have access to a metronome, so I did the next best thing. I checked the app store. I had recently discovered apps that will help you tune your guitar (they're not perfect, but work on the fly), and I thought maybe the app store has a metronome app too. It does. The app is called Pro Metronome and it is a free download from the App Store or Google Play. This handy little app lets you adjust the tempo, the sound of the metronome (13 different sounds), and the musical time. It will even allow you to set a timer for how long you want to practice, and more. Better yet it was free. There is an upgraded version that has even more features, but the basic version suited my needs.
