Whether you're a fan of the BBC show, the classic stories, or both, I think we all can agree that the world can't have enough eccentric crime-solving people. There are countless mysteries floating around public libraries today, but not too many Holmes-inspired ones (I kid.) As a fan of both the show and the books, I've found a few novels that can satisfy any Sherlockian's hunger for more Watson and Holmes. Check these out, especially while you wait for season 4 of the hit BBC show to hit TV.
NUMBER 1: A STUDY IN CHARLOTTE // BRITTANY CAVALLARO
My personal favorite of the selection, ASIC blends contemporary novel with brilliant crime-solving. And what I love about this beginning of a series is that these are not Sherlock and Watson- these are their descendants. A name to live up to adds an entirely new level of pressure. NUMBER 2: EVERY BREATH // ELLIE MARNEY
This is not the Holmes you know. This is Mycroft and Watts, an Australian-written novel inspired by our favorite crime-solving duo. NUMBER 3: TROUBLE IS A FRIEND OF MINE // STEPHANIE TROMLY
Although this one didn't quite grab me (the zany characters are a little too out there for my taste), I've heard a lot of rave reviews, so I'm adding it to my list. Click the cover to see if it's for you!
